ABOUT FUSION HOCKEY

COACH KEVIN

Lexington resident Kevin Lane, a USA Hockey Level IV Certified Coach, runs Fusion Hockey.

Kevin's passion for hockey started as a nine-year-old after watching his cousin's youth hockey game in Medford. Beginning slightly older than his peers, Coach Kevin was behind the curve. However, like a fish to water, Kevin took to the game quickly, becoming a premier youth and high school player at Perennial Massachusetts powerhouse Pope Francis and New Prep, a then-top prep school team in Cambridge. Coach Kevin spent countless hours being a rink rat and playing all the top summer showcase tournaments of the day; Hockey Night in Boston (HNIB), the Europa Cup, and the Quincy Pro-AM league.

That hard work through Coach Kevin's adolescent years paid off as he was recruited by several division one schools, including West Point (ECAC), before ultimately attending Divison III Powerhouse Plattsburgh State (SUNYAC) in Upstate NY.

Coach Kevin's greatest strength as a player was his skating and agility. At Fusion Hockey, he passes on those skating skills and techniques to his camp attendees. In today's game, skating and good edgework, more than anything, separate the great players from the good players.

At Fusion Hockey, Coach Kevin and his staff preach the mantra of "skating first" to all our camp participants.
